The remarkable bridge design includes 11 graceful arches that together stretch 1,100 feet over the South Platte River. This exceptional design won the bridge a space on the National Register of Historic Places and designation as a Colorado Civil Engineering Landmark. The unique character of the bridge also inspired a local community group, the Fort Morgan Historical Society, to save the aging bridge from collapse in the early 1990s. The Society worked with the city of Fort Morgan and the Colorado Historical Society to generate matching funds for a two- phase TE award to restore the bridge for pedestrian use. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and a center for community events. In addition, the Rainbow Arch Bridge serves as the entrance to the Pawnee Pioneer Trails, a part of Colorado's Scenic and Historic Byways system.

Built on 165 acres of land, there are 57 acres of native area throughout the course. Wildlife habitat in this area is home to eagles, hawks, deer, quail, pheasant and coyotes, as well as many others. The Quail Dunes Golf Course was designated as an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in 1994. The Course is home to two distinct nines. The original front 9-hole course designed by Henry Hughs was opened in the early 1920s. In the late 1960s an additional 9 holes designed by Frank Hummel was added, along with a driving range. This traditional golf course features a variety of terrain from tree-lined fairways to rolling hills and challenging greens.
